There are so many myths that people believe about doulas. One of the one that we hear often is that doulas strictly support unmedicated birth…. This is so far from the truth. A doula is here to assist the woman and the family. A doula is not here to push an agenda. This is not true here at Loving Birth Services. We support you as you make decisions regarding how you want to birth your baby.
We’ve supported many births--VBACs, unmedicated, planned cesarean, medicated, ect. We support our clients in achieving their best possible birth--whatever that may look like to them.We have had clients who knew they wanted to deliver without any medications. We have clients who are unsure if they wanted medication but were open to whatever they needed in the moment. We have worked with clients who wanted to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) and some who scheduled their cesarean birth. Some of our clients chose to birth at home...Others at a birth center or at the hospital. We support and respect all of these choices. We will work with you to help you achieve your ideal birth, whatever that looks like for you. It is our honor to be a small part of such an extraordinary time.
