How to succeed in motherhood
“There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one”
--Jill Churchill

I’m sure it's safe to say that even before you found out you were pregnant you wondered, "I hope I will be a good mother.” Once you give birth and hold your precious baby those thoughts are even stronger. You just want give your child all you have, and to be the best mother you can be.
Let me share with you a few ways you can succeed in motherhood:
Trust
Trust yourself! Some people call it mothers intuition or trusting your “gut”... but whatever it is you call it, it is REAL! You really do know what your baby needs. If I may be so bold, I’d like to add that you know more about your baby then your doctor can tell you.
Research
Knowledge is power... it truly is. So, get a hold of some great books about pregnancy, breastfeeding, infant care, toddler expectations, etc. There are many great websites and blogs written by professionals filled with info that can help you. Learn as much as you can about what stage you are currently in and what is to come.
Self Care
You have to take care of you before you can take care of others. It is a must and you deserve it! Take an extra long shower or soak in the tub. Treat yourself to a massage or call a friend to meet at a local coffee shop for a quick latte. Let others take care of you. If family or friends offer to bring you a meal soon after delivery, say yes! If Grandma is requesting on some one on one time with your preschooler, take advantage of the time and plan a date with your sweetie.
Be encouraged, you are doing a great job!
