I am really excited to be joining the Loving Birth team! I was first introduced to Ginnie in 2013 when my husband and I interviewed her to be our doula for the birth of our daughter, and never thought at the time that I would be working with her and the rest of the Loving Birth Services team less than 2 years later! I certified as a birth and bereavement doula through StillBirthday, and as such I have been trained on how to support women through childbirth in any trimester and any outcome. From early miscarriage through full-term happy births and everything in between, I will stand alongside you, help validate your experience, and provide you with resources.
Outside of the birth community, I also work part time as a board certified music therapist with mentally ill inmates. I have been doing this work since 2005, and completed my Masters degree in 2013. I have always found fulfillment in being of service to others, and believe that anyone, regardless of background, life choices, and personal philosophy is deserving of care. Since my daughter’s birth, I have been passionate about supporting women through pregnancy and childbirth, and I look forward to discovering ways to potentially incorporate music into this special journey!
On non-work days, I enjoy spending time with my daughter; reading and singing, nursing and cuddling, separating her from the cats, and spotting her as she climbs onto just about every piece of furniture in the house. Post baby bedtime, my husband and I enjoy catching up on our favorite TV comedies and dramas, and no, it is no coincidence that our dog is named Dexter.
